FS2Crew: PMDG MD-11 Edition News

August 19, 2008

MD11 Editions news:  it’s coming along very well.  We expect to launch simultaneously with the PMDG MD-11 aircraft.

One plus is that we’re working closely with the PMDG dev team, and you will see the fruits of that.

One particularly nice thing is that FS2Crew’s graphics for the MD11 was done by the same individual who did the graphics for the MD11 aircraft.  So there is a good element of linkage between the two products.

We can’t give a release date, but PMDG has stated that their MD11 is in beta.  So that a hint.  It’s not that far away…

Lotte World

August 17, 2008

This weekend we went to Lotte World.  Lotte World is an indoor/outdoor theme park.  Kinda like a Disney Land type of thing.  It’s located fairly close to the Yongsan Garrison in Seoul, which is like the main base for the USFK (United States Forces Korea)

It’s a fun place and the kids loved it.

Some advice for those of you planning on going:

1. Don’t even bother going on a national holiday.

2. Go early unless want to wait 2 hours in line for a 3 minute ride.

Other than that, it’s great!

Weekend trip to the beach

August 3, 2008

Had to get a way for a bit, so in the car goes the wife and kids for a road-trip.  Hyundee (SP?) Beach here we come…

This is apparently vacation time for the locals, so naturally the roads were bumper-to-bumper.  Here we are pulling into a rest area, about 2 hours back of Busan.  Even the rest area entrance way was bumper-to-bumper.

On the way, we had to stop at the American Village in some place called Namhee (SP?).  No Americans live here I think; in fact, I think these are just vacation rental villas.   One day I’m going to build a house like this one here.  One thing I do miss is large houses.

Of course, since we paid tribute to the American Village, we also had to pay tribute to the German Village.  I couldn’t find a single word of German in the whole place, but there was a building with “Hamburg” written on the side.

After having spent way too much time behind the wheel and getting lost in the maze of roads that is Busan, we finally made it to the beach.

Those umbrellas are for rent, and there are literally thousands of them covering the whole beach area.  It’s quite the sight.
